Film Locations

Caerhays Estate is set in one of the most un-spoilt areas of Cornwall with locations ranging from the beautiful neo-gothic Caerhays Castle and (recently restored) Georgian rectory The Vean, to Porthluney and Portholland beaches. The Estate can offer many and varied types of locations to suit a wide range of film or photographic requirements.

Exterior properties we can offer are locations based around gardens, beaches, farmland, cliffs, parkland, magnificent buildings or small hidden cottages, long winding lanes with high Cornish hedges, the old granite church with its minute graveyard and even our own village.

Interiors can be arranged in The Vean, estate outbuildings, cottages or in limited areas of the Castle itself. In addition we can on occasion arrange access to the nurseries and gardens of Burncoose Nursery at Redruth which in turn can offer a variety of different locations.

For over 30 years Caerhays has been the location for many film and television series. Caerhays Castle provided the background for the BBC dramatisation of Rebecca starring Joanna David and Jeremy Brett, and while this is possibly the most well known others include Dangerous Exile, Wycliffe, Poldark to mention a few.
