QUOTATIONS
Above the gardens, to the north-west of the castle, and at the northern end of Caerhays Village, stands the Church of St. Michael. For those wishing for peace and solitude a visit to this ancient building is well worth the effort. On passing through the lych-gate one is first struck by the view accross the churchyard to the hills west of Gorran. Then, on entering the church, one is enveloped in a quiet which is almost tangible. The knowledge that centuries of parishioners have prayed here makes one humble in the face of history and God
